Communications Workers of America,1180

CWA represents me at NYC Health & Hospitals.

I’m a part CWA 1180 (Communications Workers of America) since 2019. CWA represents more than 9,000 members in supervisory and administrative positions. Our members are mainly comprised of women, women of color, and other minorities. Some members work in mayoral agencies, NYC Health and Hospitals, Board of Education, Housing Authority, among many other sectors. CWA 1180 represents it’s members by bargaining wages, benefits, and working conditions.

Hispanic Committee

CWA has several committees for its members one of them I’m a part of the Hispanic Committee. The Hispanic committee has organized drives for school supplies, clothing and food for the less fortunate. They participate in the National Puerto Rican Day parade every year.  The most recent event they hosted was a collection of supplies for hurricane Maria victims in Puerto Rico.  The goal of this committee is to encourage a sense of community and unity.
